Lesson 4 of 7

Outreach letters to the places that list you

The team finds the directories, launch sites, blogs and magazines that cover businesses like yours, reads how each takes pitches and writes a letter under 90 words to its rules. You send it.

Write a letter

  1. Option 1

    The best fit

Write a letter — the team picks the place that suits you most and has not had a letter yet.

  2. Option 2

    A chain of three

Write a chain — the letter and two short follow-ups a few days apart, each adding one new thing.

  3. Option 3

A place you have in mind

Type its name or link and press Write to them.

Open a letter to see where it goes, how that place wants to be pitched and its own rules. Then Copy, Open as a Gmail draft or Open in my mail app.

How the letters are written

  • At most 90 words, the point in the first line, one proof, one ask, one link.
  • Follow-ups under 60 words, around day 3–5 and day 9–12.
  • Only through a free door. A paid directory gets no letter — it is listed under Paid listings that fit, with its price.

What it costs

Your first letter after the set-up is free. Then 10 credits a letter and 20 for a chain of three. Copying and Gmail drafts are free.

Asked about this

Does it email them for me?

No. You open it as a draft or paste it into their form, and send it yourself.

The place has no email address

The card says so; add theirs in the To line, or use their submission form.
